Like most dogs, D-fas don’t mind the occasional bath
(and secretly rather like it). However, unlike most
dogs, D-fa jackets are machine washable. Like any
fabric, the less you wash it the better it lasts, but
follow the instructions on the care labels for your
garment for best results. If someone chewed off the
label, here are the instructions again:
SUB-WOOFER™, Arma-Doggo™,
Puff-Doggy™ and Moon-Walker™
Because some of these fabrics have technical properties
like reflection, breathability etc, the less you wash
them, the better they last. Detergents and the action of
the washing machine can cause them to lose some of their
functionality. Feel free to wash your jacket, but if
it’s just a bit muddy or wet, just let it dry, give it a
shake and air to freshen it up. Otherwise, a normal
cycle in the washing machine is fine.

Merino likes hand-washing, but does not require it.

wool cycle, under 30°C (86°F) with a wool wash
detergent.

Mother Nature's Last Laugh
Merino is a natural fiber and although we have tried to
tame some of its wild ways Mother Nature has the last
laugh.
There is still the chance that the fabric will shrink up
to 3-5% when washed and you may find some loosening of
the fabric with wear. This is natural, and often it
improves the fit of the jacket around the dog. If you
find the jacket has stretched, a wash will often bring
it back into shape.
To minimize the unwanted impact of shrinkage, please
follow the washing instructions above. Also, we have
found the following works a treat to keep the jacket in
shape.
After you pull the jacket out of the machine or while it
is still damp, have a gentle game of human tug with the
jacket to pull it back to shape and full size. It will
tug in all directions - length and width. Be firm and
even, and don’t use your teeth! You can stretch the
jacket after washing between 3 and 6cm depending on its
original size.
